Our Mission

The History of the 437 Project

The 437 Project was founded in 2022, inspired by a powerful belief: that physical and mental wellness are deeply connected — and both deserve attention, support, and action. What began as a bold idea quickly became a movement.

Each year, 12 runners and a dedicated team of volunteers embark on a 437-mile relay across the state of South Dakota. Along the way, they connect with communities, share stories, and raise critical funds and awareness for mental health. It’s more than a run — it’s a journey of purpose, unity, and hope.
